Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC)

Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC) is made from high-quality coal, wood, or coconut shell raw material.

PAC is a form of carbon that has been processed to create millions of tiny pores between the carbon atoms, which increase the surface area available for adsorption or chemical reactions.

Divine Carbon delivers a wide array of custom-engineered powdered activated carbons tailored to meet customer needs.

Key Features

The adsorptive capacity of Divine Carbon’s powdered activated carbon (PAC) makes it ideal for removing a variety of contaminants from water, air, liquids, and gases.

The steam activation process is carried out in a rotary kiln by heating the powdered carbon at high temperatures using steam. The resulting product is unwashed activated carbon, which has a higher ash and iron content. This is reduced by washing the carbon with acid and purified water, producing washed activated carbon with ash content as low as 2–3% and iron content as low as 50–100 ppm.

Applications

  • Pharmaceutical Industry: Process water and remove impurities from drugs.
  • Chemical Industries: Remove impurities from solvents and chemicals.
  • Water Treatment: Remove odour, organic pollutants, and heavy metals.
  • Oil Refinery: Remove colour pigments, free fatty acids (FFA), and residual pesticides.
  • Air & Gas Treatments: Remove VOCs and harmful gases.
  • Food & Beverage: Remove colour, impurities, and unwanted flavors.
  • Environmental Remediation: Remove contaminants from soil and groundwater.
